BOOKING & PAYMENT

Morocco Tours FAQ: Booking & Payment Questions

Booking is simple. Just fill in our contact form on the website or send us a WhatsApp message at +212 616-110715. Tell us which tour you are interested in, your travel dates, and the number of travelers. We will reply within 2 hours with full availability, pricing, and itinerary options. Once you confirm, we ask for a small deposit to secure your booking.

We require a small deposit — typically 20% of the total tour price — to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is paid in cash on the first day of your tour, directly to your guide. We never ask for full payment upfront.

For the deposit, we accept PayPal, bank transfer (SWIFT/IBAN), and Wise (formerly TransferWise). The balance on arrival can be paid in cash in euros, US dollars, or Moroccan dirhams (MAD). We do not currently accept credit cards on tour.

+212 616-110715Yes. We have processed hundreds of deposits from travelers in over 40 countries without any issues. We are a registered Morocco tour operator and have 500+ verified reviews on Google and TripAdvisor. PayPal also offers buyer protection for added peace of mind.

We recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance, especially during peak season (March–May and September–November). However, we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests — contact us and we will check availability immediately.

Absolutely. Requesting a quote is completely free and has zero commitment. Send us your travel dates, group size, and preferred tour — we will reply with a full itinerary and pricing breakdown. No pressure, no obligation.

Cancellations made 14+ days before departure receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations 7–13 days before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 7 days before departure are non-refundable. If we cancel your tour for any reason (weather, safety, etc.), you receive a full refund or a free rebooking — guaranteed.

We do not sell travel insurance directly, but we strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance before their trip. This should cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and lost luggage. World Nomads and SafetyWing are popular options among our travelers.

DESERT TOURS

Desert Tour Questions

The 3-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech is our most popular tour and the perfect introduction to the Moroccan desert. It covers the Ait Ben Haddou UNESCO kasbah, the Dades Gorges, the Todra Canyons, and ends with a camel trek and overnight stay at a luxury camp in Erg Chebbi — the most iconic dunes in Morocco.

Erg Chebbi is a sea of golden sand dunes near Merzouga in southeastern Morocco. The dunes reach up to 150 meters in height and stretch for approximately 22 km. The colors change dramatically throughout the day — from pale gold at midday to deep orange and red at sunset. It is one of the most photogenic places on Earth.

Yes, absolutely. If camel riding is not for you — whether for health, comfort, or personal preference — we will transfer you to the desert camp by comfortable 4×4 vehicle at no extra cost. You will still experience the full sunset and overnight camp, just without the camel.

Our luxury desert camps feature spacious private Berber-style tents with real beds, quality mattresses, and en-suite bathrooms with hot showers. They are nothing like basic camping. Each camp includes electricity, a dining area for traditional Moroccan dinner, and a firepit for the evening Berber music session. You will be surprised by the level of comfort in the middle of the Sahara.

Yes — desert nights can be surprisingly cold, especially from October to March when temperatures can drop to 5°C or below. Even in summer, nights are much cooler than the day. We strongly recommend bringing a warm layer or fleece regardless of when you travel. Your camp will provide extra blankets.

In addition to the camel trek and watching the sunset and sunrise, you can add quad biking across the dunes, sandboarding, a Berber drumming and music session at the campfire, and stargazing (the Merzouga sky is one of the clearest in Africa). A professional photographer can also be arranged to capture your experience.

The camel trek to the camp typically takes 45 minutes to 1 hour each way, depending on the camp location. On Day 3, you have the choice to return by camel or by 4×4 — most travelers prefer the 4×4 return to save time and energy for the long drive back to Marrakech.

Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) is the real Sahara Desert — golden sand dunes up to 150m high, 500km from Marrakech, requiring an overnight stay to experience properly. Agafay is a rocky desert plateau just 30 minutes from Marrakech — no sand dunes, but dramatic lunar landscapes and Atlas Mountain views. Agafay is perfect for a day trip; Erg Chebbi is perfect for a 3-day desert adventure.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodation Questions

Our tours include two types of accommodation. Night 1 is typically spent in a traditional boutique hotel or riad nestled in a scenic location such as the Dades Gorges. Night 2 is in a luxury desert camp at Erg Chebbi. Both are selected for quality, comfort, and authentic Moroccan character — we never book generic chain hotels.

Yes. We exclusively work with luxury desert camps that provide private en-suite bathrooms with hot showers inside each tent. We do not offer standard camps with shared facilities. Your comfort and privacy are our priority, even in the middle of the Sahara.

Yes. If you have specific accommodation preferences — a particular riad, a specific camp, or a higher or lower budget option — just let us know when you request your quote. We are happy to adjust the itinerary to match your preferences.

Absolutely. All hotels and camps we work with can accommodate families. We can arrange connecting rooms, extra beds for children, and family-sized tents at the desert camp. Just mention the ages of your children when you book and we will make all the arrangements.

WiFi availability varies by camp. Most luxury camps offer limited WiFi in the common areas. However, the desert experience is genuinely enhanced by disconnecting for one night — the Merzouga sky with no light pollution is something you will not want to be looking at through a phone screen.

Yes. We offer Standard Luxury and Premium Luxury camp options. The premium option features larger tents, higher-quality furnishings, and sometimes a private terrace. Mention your preference during booking and we will include both options in your quote.

TRANSPORT

Transport & Logistics Questions

The vehicle depends on your group size. For 1–4 travelers we use a Toyota Land Cruiser 4×4 or similar. For 5–8 travelers we use a comfortable modern van. For larger groups we use a Mercedes Sprinter minibus that seats up to 17 passengers. All vehicles are air-conditioned, modern, and maintained to high safety standards.
We pick you up directly from your hotel, riad, or airport in Marrakech at a time agreed with you — typically between 7:00 and 8:00 AM on Day 1. At the end of the tour, we drop you off at your accommodation in Marrakech.
Yes. Several of our tours depart from Fes — including the popular 3-Day Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour. If you would like a pickup from a city not listed in a specific tour, contact us and we will check if it can be arranged, sometimes with a small additional fee.
Yes. The main routes between Marrakech and the Sahara are well-maintained paved roads. Our drivers are experienced professionals who know every route, weather pattern, and rest stop along the way. We monitor road conditions before every departure.
The drive from Marrakech to Merzouga covers approximately 550 km and takes around 9–10 hours including stops. This is why we split the journey over 2 days — Day 1 takes you to the Dades Valley (around 5–6 hours driving with stops), and Day 2 brings you to Merzouga (around 3–4 hours). The scenery along the way is spectacular.
Yes. We offer private airport transfers to and from Marrakech Menara Airport, Fes-Saïss Airport, and Casablanca Mohammed V Airport. This can be booked separately or added to your tour package. Contact us for pricing.

TRAVEL TIPS

Morocco Travel Tips

The best months to visit Morocco are March to May and September to November. The weather is warm and pleasant, the desert is not too hot, and crowds are manageable. July and August are the hottest months — desert temperatures can exceed 45°C during the day. December to February can be cold, especially in the mountains and desert at night, but the landscapes are beautiful and crowds are minimal.
Essentials include: lightweight breathable clothing for the day, a warm layer or fleece for desert nights, comfortable closed-toe walking shoes, a headscarf or buff (for sandstorms and sun), high SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, a small daypack, personal medications, and a power bank. A headlamp is useful at the desert camp. Avoid overpacking — you will be in and out of a vehicle most of the time.
Yes. Morocco is one of the safest countries in Africa and the Middle East for tourists. The country welcomed nearly 20 million visitors in 2025. Like any destination, normal travel awareness applies — keep valuables secure, be cautious in crowded medinas, and follow your guide’s advice. Our guides are with you throughout the tour and will always ensure your safety.
Morocco is generally safe for solo female travelers, and many women travel here alone every year. That said, solo female travelers may experience occasional unsolicited attention in busy medinas. Traveling with a guided tour — like our tours — eliminates most of these concerns. You will always have your guide by your side.
Citizens of the USA, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, and Brazil can enter Morocco without a visa for stays of up to 90 days. However, visa requirements change — we recommend checking the official Morocco immigration website or your country’s foreign affairs department before traveling.
The official currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). It is not freely convertible outside Morocco, so exchange money upon arrival. ATMs are widely available in cities. Euros and US dollars are accepted by most tour operators and some shops, but the exchange rate at shops is often unfavorable. We recommend carrying some dirhams for souks, local restaurants, and tips.
The official languages are Arabic (Darija dialect) and Tamazight (Berber). French is widely spoken in cities and tourism. English is spoken by most guides and tourism professionals. In tourist areas, Spanish and some Portuguese are also understood. Our guides speak English fluently — and some speak French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Tipping is not mandatory but is very much appreciated. A typical tip for a 3-day tour is €10–€20 per person for the driver-guide, and a small tip for the camp staff. Tips are given directly to the team on the last day of the tour.

GROUPS & CUSTOM TOURS

Groups & Custom Tour Questions

Yes — and this is actually our most popular option. A private tour means you have your own vehicle, your own guide, and your own schedule. You will not share your tour with strangers. The price per person decreases as your group grows, making private tours very cost-effective for families and groups of 4 or more.
Our minibus comfortably seats up to 17 passengers. For groups larger than 17, we can arrange multiple vehicles traveling together. Contact us with your group size and we will design the best solution.
Absolutely. Our listed itineraries are suggestions — not fixed schedules. We can adjust departure times, add or remove stops, change the pace, extend the tour to 4 or 5 days, or create a completely custom route from scratch. Just tell us your interests and we will build your dream Morocco itinerary.
Yes. We have experience organizing educational and student group tours across Morocco. These can be customized to include historical and cultural sites, Berber village visits, cooking classes, and more. Contact us with your group size, dates, and educational objectives and we will design a full program.
Yes. We organize corporate retreats, team-building desert experiences, and incentive travel programs in Morocco. These can include exclusive desert camp buyouts, private Berber dinners, and customized activity programs. Contact us for a corporate quote.
Yes. Every tour can be extended. For example, the 3-Day Sahara Tour can become 4, 5, or 7 days by adding extra destinations such as the Draa Valley, Zagora, Erfoud, or a complete Morocco circuit including the imperial cities. Just mention this when you request your quote.
